Finding Rest

Hey friends, sorry for the lack of updates on the ol’ blog. Wifi has been hard to come by in Ethiopia. Here is a short photo blog with one picture from each country we have visited, munis Ethiopia (updates on Africa are coming as soon as we are allowed to take photos at the refugee camp we are working at). Enjoy these pictures from Cambodia, Thailand, Honduras and Guatemala!

One of the big things God has taught me a lot about over the last 6 months is rest. Rest isn’t something I have always prioritized, so it has been uncomfortable at times to get the rest I need but it has also been so good. God has provided many beautiful landscapes for me to sit and admire, plenty of naturally-lit and cozy places for me to sit and reflect, and lots of people to hang out with. Here are some pictures of places I have found rest—one photo from each country.

Overflow Guesthouse in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The rooftop of our hostel had a cool view and the sunrises were beautiful. I really enjoyed playing my guitar on the roof each morning and having some time alone before we started our days.

Rooftop Residence in Bangkok, Thailand. This hostel was awesome and I loved all the natural light and the view from their roof. This part of the Race was hard and I spent a lot of time on that roof with the Lord.

My hammock spot at Loyalty School in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The Lord spoke the word rest over me as soon as we got to Honduras. My first month in Honduras was mentally and physically exhausting so it was refreshing to sit in my hammock and talk to the Lord when I had the chance.

Mountains surrounding Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. The Lord spoke a lot of peace over me as I sat and looked at the mountains and the water.
