Five things I’m thankful for

  1. Waking up to a mountain view every day for two months in Honduras
  2. The staff at the Adventures base in Guatemala and how they have cared for us over the last month
  3. My leadership team for loving and supporting me
  4. Having a couch and a coffee maker where we are living this month. They are nice cozy touches that make me feel right at home.
  5. The sunrises I have gotten to see in each country

Five amazing things I’ve eaten

  1. Shish-kabobs that Sandra and Teresa made for dinner last week
  2. Vietnamese coffee from Union Café
  3. PB&J smoothie from Roots Café
  4. Toasty ham and cheese sandwiches from 7-11 in Bangkok (honestly so delicious)
  5. Rotisserie chicken and potatoes from Rincon Tipico

Five note-worthy things that wouldn’t make sense even if I explained them

  1. Extreme hang-gliding and monster truck rallies
  2. IIIIIIIII’M NOOOOOOT ALRIIIIIIIIIIGHT (sung into moving fan blades)
  3. Pillowcases with Care Bears and cupcakes on them (@Bekah Monroe)
  4. French things on the white board (@Team Free People)
  5. Lunch meat call

Five embarrassing moments

  1. Hitting a baby in the head with a completely full Nalgene water bottle.
  2. Using the secret bathroom at our ministry site in Honduras and finding out the hard way that it doesn’t flush.
  3. The time I hit two strangers in the face with my backpack in the span of 3 mins.
  4. The time I 100% accidentally mimicked a Guatemalan guy’s accent when he said the word “stretchy.” It came out of my mouth before I could stop myself…lol.
  5. The time I made the mistake of showing my co-leader and Racers how I can’t jump very high and they literally fell on the floor laughing. Thanks a lot guys.

Five times I laughed really hard

  1. Playing hot seat with Team TKO + Esther and everyone got out of control and lost their minds and it was hilarious
  2. When I got the giggles in the middle of a serious prayer during month 4 debrief.
  3. Watching the movie Grown Ups during squad leader vacation
  4. When Esther and I went to return a pair of jeans she bought and she caused a scene in the store and now I can never show my face in there ever again
  5. When I critiqued the very expensive artwork at Union Café while having coffee with my gurl Cali

  1. Getting breakfast and chatting with Mae, Cali, Esther and Jodi at Bella Vista
  2. All the one-on-ones I’ve had with the Racers this month
  3. Becoming friends with Tia Glendy, one of the cooks from a hotel we ate breakfast at
  4. Watching the sunrise by myself most mornings here in Guatemala
  5. Having Christmas Eve dinner with our hosts in Honduras

Five things I’m looking forward to

  1. Spending another whole month here in Guatemala
  2. Having dinner and game night with our new friends from the Adventures base
  3. Playing with all the precious Ethiopian kids when we get there next month
  4. Finishing the book of Hebrews
  5. Seeing how Gap K continues to grow and pursue the Lord over these next four months
